Legal marijuana states had 16.4 percent increase in traffic fatalities

The Governors Highway Safety Association’s annual Spotlight on Pedestrian Traffic Fatalities is a first glimpse at national and state trends in pedestrian traffic fatalities for 2017. Among other findings, the report showed that states with legalized marijuana had a combined 16.4 percent increase in the first six months of 2017.  All other states experienced a 5.8 percent decrease.
